I plan to replace my stock pups with some new Fender 5-String Jazz Bass Samarium Cobalt(noiseless) Pickups, and was wonder-
ing if I should go ahead and have the pickup cavities copper
shielded or not. The material is cheap; opinions plz!! thanks !!

Shielding the pickup cavities is pretty pointless. You want the shielding in the control cavity.

It is always better to shield the pickup cavities too, aside from the controlcavitie. Especially with passive basses. The trick is to ground these cavities to your output.
