    Serek Owners/Fan Club

Check out what just arrived in the post! Made it safely to Melbourne, Australia after I made the most of the labor day sale on the Serek web store. Possibly the first Sacramento over here? Insanely impressed by the build quality and keen to plug it in tonight for a test drive.

    Spector vs music man bass

I have had a number of Spectors (all Rebops and Euros) and my main is currently a Musicman Stingray Special. The Spector basses were fantastic, very ergonomic and comfortable. Many pickup options too if you like tweaking your tones. The Stingray is much more chunky. The Musicman sound is my...

    BYB - Birth Year Basses

I wasn't looking for a birth year bass when I purchased my G&L LB-100 but thought it was a cool coincidence it was a '94 model (according to the seller). Two years later I took off the neck for the first time and discovered it is actually a '96. Oh well.

But do I DESERVE a "nice" bass?

This reminds me of when I got rid of my Warwick Custom Shop Streamer (picked it up second hand for a crazy good price, could never afford a new one). It was an incredible bass but I'm an average at best player who hasn't played outside of my house in years... Felt wrong owing something like...

    My First Build NBD

Thanks! It's 5 pieces in total, they were all just clamped and glued together. 3 - 135x19mm boards for the bottom half of the body width and 2 - 185x19mm boards as the top. I glued them overlapping like bricks as I figured it would help with stability. Essentially , it's two 19mm thick bodies...

    My First Build NBD

Time for some show and tell. I was looking for a productive way to spend my free time while avoiding contact with the outside world and decided to try my hand at building a bass. (Well, a bass body as I already had a lonely neck laying around). I'd never built much more than a box in highschool...

I have been thinking of getting my Warwick double buck refinished for over a year now, but...

Hey, it could be worse. Check out the insides of my Warwick Streamer. I dread the day it needs any work.

The Official Warwick Club (Part 6)

Hey there, hoping to get an opinion on the finish of my 2012 LX5. Since I've owned it (1 year) it has had a slight crack as pictured along the line where the two-piece body is joined. It seems to be only cosmetic. The same thing is happening on the bridge end of the bass at both sides of the...

    Cole Clark Bass....Australian made beauty

I noticed these basses haven't gathered much attention around here, so I thought I would bring this thread back to life to share my most recent acquisition. Same specs as the above but with a California redwood top and ebony fretboard. Loving the silky smooth neck on these and the Aguilar...

    G&L Bass

Pictured is my 94 G&L LB-100. When I got it I also had a USA Fender P Bass and a very nice Sandberg California P Bass. They are gone now as I preferred the feel and tone of the G&L. In saying that, the previous owner added the EMGs and bridge pickup so I'm not sure what it would have sounded...

Pretty happy with how it turned out! (I built it from a kit earlier this year)

Fender P vs G&L LB-100 vs EBMM Cutlass

I have the G&L LB-100 and echo what was said above. It is so good that I can barely play anything else anymore. I sold a USA Fender P and my Sandberg California P because they just sat around as I picked up the LB-100 every single time. Granted my LB-100 is a 1994 and has EMGs so I can't speak...

    Fender Bass VI

Bought the Squier in Olympic White to live out my Cure fantasies. As far as build quality and aesthetics go it was fantastic, I just couldn't get along with the super close string spacing and the dull sounding E string (even after bulking it up multiple gauges). I figured it was a combination of...
