I was watching the Chapelle Show on my netflix. The episode had Wyclef as the musical guest. Duplessis was playing this gorgeous acoustic bass, appearance and tone. Do any of you guys know what model this is? It is at the end of Season 2 Episode 9.
Does any manufacture make a tenor (ADGC) or deeper (BEAD) bass for under $1000. I can find Warwicks and Foderas with those tunings. I know you can change the basses, but does anyone make them "stock."
I change them when they feel weird on my fingers. I like the old string sound, and i hate the new string sound. On average every 6-8 months. It's usually when I do a setup.
Victor wooten says (paraphrasing here) that amps are for tone and the bass is for comfort and playability. Easy for him to say he has a fodera. Though I think he made a good point
you could play every note in concordance with the kick. If its mixed right (the soundman will take care of that) your notes will have a lot more power to it. Otherwise they could be buried and unnoticable. Some times I only play certain notes with the kick, like the perfect 5th or minor 7th. it...
My teacher should me this album. My first thought is why dont many people talk about this one like they do Word of Mouth and his weather report stuff. Jaco has some good licks on this recording and Bireli is definatley a good guitar player. Any thoughts?
Well, you are 15, you may grow out of it. I wanted a boatload of basses at that age too. you will start to realize what you like to play, and how you want to sound. I have giged with over 50 basses (vast majority I borrowed) and found what I like.
