    No, they were not. This is a screenshot of the MusicYo website (2005) and a page from a Japanese Spirit catalog in 1997. Both had the EMG Select pickups with that visible logo. Later (after Music Yo closed) Spirits were made with the "STEINBERGER" branded Epiphone pickups.

    No Steinbergers ever came with stainless steel frets. Not even the old USA Steinbergers. So that's definitely a "no", unless somebody has had it refretted.

    Both leg rest and battery cover are different on L2 and XL basses. The two-screw (foldable) leg rest for the XL bass may become available again from the HeadlessUSA store, currently it's sold out. The same is true for the XL2 battery cover.

    No L-type instrument ever had the serial on the base of the neck. This was only true for instruments with bolt-on necks. So that statement is wrong.

    The 2017 catalog named the fretboard material "Granadilla", in 2018 it disappeared from the catalog, and in 2019 it was shown as "engineered hardwood": 2017: 2019:

    The XP bass has exactly the same bridge(s), headpiece and scale length as the XL, XM, XQ basses. They all share the same hardware and (thus) specs. The L2 differs from all of them, simply because the headpiece and the bridge are completely different. There are metric threads on all later...

    Sorry, my mistake. I mixed up "bridge" (which in Steinberger terms is tuner housing + saddles) with "tuner housing" on the CR/WAV basses. Of course the bridge on Radius basses is metal. Just the tuner housing is not. Which doesn't matter, if the bridge is grounded…
