I got a Gretsch Jr. Jet, put a Babicz bridge and flatwounds on it. Lots of low end and some sweet octaves.

My Gator bag has a removable pad and I move it based on which bass I'm carrying.

Is it a heavy wood? The broken short dark rays of grain makes me think of white mahogany.

As far as being noisy.....mine is not. I'd be interested in chrome bezels too. I know that these aren't basses but the body shape is very close. I'm digging the red stripe.

Another vote for the Gretsch G2220. I put some flats on mine and it really thumps.
