Gretsch Junior Jet II mini humbuckers - a few questions?

Just ordered one of these in Torino Green and am planning to be happy with the stock pickups based on a few demo videos. A few questions:

-I've read a couple of places that they are noisy - seems odd for a humbucker unless its cheap pots/switch or a missing ground - anyone experience this?
-I'd like to swap the black plastic bezels for chrome ones - does anyone know where I can get the dimensions of the stock ones to make sure a replacement will fit the pickup and cover the screw holes as I have heard that can be a problem with the TV Jones bezels which are apparently plastic anyway.
-Anyone wired theirs like a jazz bass with no switch to do some blending? Did you like it?
-Off topic but while you are here - I'm thinking of adding a racing stripe anyone seen a Junior Jet of any color with a stripe? Curious where it was placed.

Thanks all -

As far as being noisy.....mine is not. I'd be interested in chrome bezels too. I know that these aren't basses but the body shape is very close. I'm digging the red stripe.
