My own personal amp is an Ashdown Mag 300 4-10 combo it has a devoted input and it still distorts the low end a little. Yes there are center detents on all the controls as far as preamp or active pickups I believe its a preamp as the pups only have 2 wires, but If I knew about such things I wouldnt have to bother you guys with this:D oh yeah bass is almost 0 treble almost zero pickup selector on the detent...

yes I always use the active input when its present and when its not I use a joe meek di and have the same issue. I really believe its a problem with the preamp in the bass.

Actually i usually have to run the bass control at or under 20% and decrease the master volume to around 50% the only time I can run a higher master volume is thru an active input.
