Just an FYI: If you look online, GC and MF both show they now have a "new" BTB747 in stock. If you order a BTB747 from GC now, everything points to you getting the damaged one from this thread that I took back. The rep at GC confirmed that there were no other BTB747s in GC inventory anywhere...

Took it back today. The rep at GC gave me no issues on the return, and it sounded like it wasn't the first time he saw this type of damage on an extended scale bass. Now I just need to wait for my next one to come in, and keep my fingers crossed that it turns out OK this time.... Thanks, all...

I took another close look at it; I noticed some deformation (flattened spot, about 1") on the bottom of the bass. That must be where the bass hit the floor when it fell. I'd attach a photo, but I doubt the damage would show up in a photo. On a whim, I took the panel off the control cavity...
