    Shopping for new main bass.hobbyist basement jammer.classic rock,hard rock,metal.Preamp not as much of an issue for me,I use my amp for tone shaping more than the bass.I like good deep punchy low end and good mids.which one fits this better and won't need changes to make better

    Just got back into bass after many years off.looking for string recommendations.I like old school hard rock and metal sound.low but not muddy with good midrange.playing on Ibanez sr thru combo amp with 15"speaker.
