Hmmm... Is this the first report of a *potential* failure? My V12 has been bulletproof since launch, gigging 4-5 x / week. I do keep / transport it in the V12 carry bag, and it goes on a LOT of flights in my suitcase as checked luggage. I have thought about getting a V3, as a "just in case"...

I did a tour recently, where there were sometimes backline SVT3-PROs, SVT4-PROs, or SVT-7-PROs. They all have the exact same master volume taper as the Venture series. It would appear this is not a new thing.

Sorry to hear that! Can you describe what happened leading up to the failure? I think you may have the first reported failure. Hopefully yours is an isolated incident!

No, they were backline. cabs. I've been running it mainly into a single 1x12.

Ha. No offence taken. It just tells where where exactly the pickups are placed. Actually, even if someone has a tape measure and could measure from the 12th fret, that would be really helpful.

I didn't read it that way. Unless they've updated their copy since you posted this, it looks like they are saying to add an addition VB-88 AND an additional V12, not hooking up an additional VB-88 to the one V12.

If running the volume at noon, you’re on about 10% of the available volume. 3 o’clock is the new 50% ;)
