I may have gotten the last Ibanez AVNB1E when I purchased mine for $272.43 on a "SDOTD" at MF back in April of 2020. I assume it was a return - given that the price I paid was about half the normal retail. Fortunately, mine has no issues whatsoever and has been solid as a rock.

I do. In fact, I just got a set of hearing aids last week. I had a hearing test, and my hearing was reduced 20dB across the board and up to 70dB at the higher frequencies, so I went to Costco (audiologist there confirmed the results I got at Kaiser) and here I am. Adjusting to the new reality...

Me too! I have an Ibanez AVNB1E and was curious regarding strings other than the stock D'Addarios.

Anybody using the LaBella CB40s on an Ibanez (I have an AVNB1E)? I'm wondering if there's enough difference between those and the stock D'Addarios to warrant replacing the perfectly good original set with the contrabass strings?

I actually ended up selling my "regular" electric bass and now only have the little Ibanez exactly for that reason. I figure after lockdown ends there will be plenty of electric basses available in the used market, and this frees up some space on my rack.

I've been waiting for @SBassman to review the Black Diamond strings - "Black Diamond Strings for Minibass" - that were discussed a few pages back. Anything new on that front? I was hoping that they'd work on my ibanez AVNB1E (25" scale).

Given that the serial numbers are quite close to all being adjacent, that is probably accurate.

I'll buy a set! I probably won't have to change for a while, since I got my Ibanez a couple of weeks ago, but it's always good to have an extra set on hand!
