Wow. I had a late ‘61 Jazzmaster in LPB with a green guard, I believe they introduced them in mid-late ‘61?

I bet that black ‘61 was amazing! Something about a black P Bass with a green guard, quite a rare color on a pre-cbs bass as well.
I like both P and J sounds when I hear others play them, but in my hands a P sounds/feels better.
Also, and this is just IMO, the Jazz Bass is a bit ugly. I’m a huge offset guitar fan, too, but I don’t care for the J bass aesthetic.
