+1 for IUALUM's point about the Eminence Kappa Lite 3015. It is a remarkable driver. I use a cabinet with one of them, all by itself, and it rocks. And fEarFul = 3015LF + 6.5" Midrange, yes? That cabinet has lots of fans here, but of course it's not just the driver: the cabinet is designed...

And there are lots of talented musicians who play lifeless music. Note perfect, technically challenging, but boring. It's like they're thinking, not feeling. At the other extreme, albums like "Exile on Main Street" (the Rolling Stones at their most wasted) pop to mind, and all the great Motown...

You want the "active" input. But ruining the amp is not a realistic possibility, so relax and try both. I used the same bass (sr505) into a similar amp; worst case scenario is you get a little more distortion/overload/clipping on the input. Really. No worries.

So I was going along liking everyone, and I discovered two things: 1) I actually do LIKE most of these bands. This just reinforces my faith in Talkbass. 2) The ones I *really* like, I can like twice: once as myself, and once as my alter-ego Doctor Decade. How great is that?
