SOLD FS: Warwick Corvette 5 string Made in Germany!

Gorgeous, and nicely photographed! Some may wonder about weight, and the string spacing (at bridge)?

    DOWNGRADING. SVT 810 to Combo.

I play a 3015 in a box in a 2 guitar band. It is a great cabinet. Plus, if need be, you can always get another...

    10's or 15's

+1 for IUALUM's point about the Eminence Kappa Lite 3015. It is a remarkable driver. I use a cabinet with one of them, all by itself, and it rocks. And fEarFul = 3015LF + 6.5" Midrange, yes? That cabinet has lots of fans here, but of course it's not just the driver: the cabinet is designed...

Geddy Lee????? I don't get it.......

And there are lots of talented musicians who play lifeless music. Note perfect, technically challenging, but boring. It's like they're thinking, not feeling. At the other extreme, albums like "Exile on Main Street" (the Rolling Stones at their most wasted) pop to mind, and all the great Motown...

    GK MB212 question

You want the "active" input. But ruining the amp is not a realistic possibility, so relax and try both. I used the same bass (sr505) into a similar amp; worst case scenario is you get a little more distortion/overload/clipping on the input. Really. No worries.

Tuning a sixer as a guitar

I love Talkbass! This exact idea crossed my mind today... I wasn't seriously going to try it, but the information here makes it obvious that this is entirely do-able. So now I just need to keep my eyes peeled for a reasonably priced used 6-string... Maybe an Ibanez SR506? String spacing and...

    Fingers v.s Pick is it a crime?.....Resolved!!

Wow -- you guys with usernames beginning in "JA" are obviously far more nimble than I am. So then the entire "versus" thing just evaporates completely for you. Good for you! I've got a convenient little pick storage place next to one of my pickups. I guess I should practice holstering...

    Fingers v.s Pick is it a crime?.....Resolved!!

And here's another thing (why am I posting on this thread?? just kill me now): as i was watching the very helpful and instructive video (nice hat!), I came to a realization. When you're got a pick in your hand, you are pretty much stuck with it for a whole song. When you do not have a pick in...

    Fingers v.s Pick is it a crime?.....Resolved!!

Plus: I get physically tired playing only fingerstyle, especially 2-3 fast songs in a row. Perhaps I need to lighten my touch or something, but if I switch off to a pick on one or two of those songs (especially the 8th note drones...), problem solved. So, IMHO, using Pick AND Fingers is a...

Help, got a gig at a five-star hotel

I think this is the right advice. People have become more oriented towards "world" sounds -- and there's no point in trying to pretend like you're from NY or LA or Memphis, right? You go to the local bar, you ask for the local beer -- same basic idea. People love tunes with a solid groove...

    Should you play Mustang Sally?

The thing about these classic songs is that you've gotta step up and play it like you mean it -- channel your inner Wilson Pickett, so to speak. Have you heard a live, original recording? It's stunning -- no wonder it's a classic. These songs are only lame or stale or half-assed if we approach...

I've been going through and liking (and really liking) the bands posted here. Quite a collection! Like this if you like it: Doctor Decade | Facebook

So I was going along liking everyone, and I discovered two things: 1) I actually do LIKE most of these bands. This just reinforces my faith in Talkbass. 2) The ones I *really* like, I can like twice: once as myself, and once as my alter-ego Doctor Decade. How great is that?
