OOPS I Cut my Finger Off

I cut all three in the lawn mower, but the middle one lost the tip from the base of the nail. Never found it! I can't play guitar anymore because it got too fat on the end (it covers 2~3 strings) but it's my goto finger for bass playing and driving.

Why is low tuning on a bass the taboo of music?

Freak out? I do get that people want to "teach" you how many things you have to get right in order to successfully change anything. And many people's "teaching" seems freakishly like ranting.... I'm frequently guilty of teaching. We need to have an idea what we're doing and how it relates to...

    Vintage basses pricing. Seriously?

My '67 Bass V is not a work of art, or part of a collection. It's heavy, only 15 frets and tuned high C, it's not what most bass players want in a daily player. However, it is much more valuable than just a product of manufacture. It is a fine instrument and has been a member of the family and a...

    Worst Career Move?

Awe, Yoko was beautiful. And, that's a great picture of her. I would happily make the worst career move ever for a love like they had.

    Hipshot aluminum bridge on a P-bass V

Let's see.... The higher the mass the more sustain. The better the bridge couples energy to the body the brighter the tone. Higher mass returns the energy to the string while better coupling transfers the energy to the body. For both brightness and sustain you will have to think outside the box...
