I once saw Roscoe Mitchell perform with a "triple contrabass" (or something like that; it may have been named differently) that was of a similar size. The bassist stood (sat?) on a ladder of some sort.

I have a Raezer's Edge Stealth 10 (sitting idle nowadays), and I'd also recommend them.

Yeah, I guess I don't fully grasp the difference between the "preamp level" ("Level control") and the "power amp level" ("Master") and how to use them together. I rarely play with sound going out to a PA.

Did my first (outdoor) gig with the new Doubleshot last night. It received a big thumbs up from my band mates and the audience. I could also hear myself quite well most of the time. One mild surprise was how strong the low end was (it was placed on the grass). The only sound adjustment I made...

I'm getting a new Doubleshot Combo this week. Do others have any recommendations regarding placement/positioning/raising the Doubleshot for playing at smaller outdoor venues? I'm wondering how well the side-firing speakers will project without walls -- and the same for the front-facing midrange...
