What do you eat the day of a big gig?

I agree with this except for one thing. I think I indeed understand what you meant by this however allow me the pleasantries. “(if you need a drink to settle your nerves, maybe you aren't ready to play a job), “ - This is a daft comment. I have been playing shows for decades my friend and get...

Why is Pink Floyd more popular and appealing than Rush?

You are right brother, I was rude and disrespectful in my comments. You are certainly welcome to your own opinion. I tend to get defensive about certain musical views as I am an old timer and get a little grouchy at times. I yield sir.

Why is Pink Floyd more popular and appealing than Rush?

syd was the staple in the pink floyd original sound. to each their own. both eras are great in my opinion. just rubs me wrong when dumb millennials think they need to trash talk syd barrett in order to support new floyd where as they both were amazing. I just like their original approach to true...

Why is Pink Floyd more popular and appealing than Rush?

in my humble unasked for opinion, they should have been called by a different name after syd. He was the flavor of that band. It originated with him and it wasn’t the same without him. His solo album was so far ahead of its time. Syd was a genius tbh.

Why is Pink Floyd more popular and appealing than Rush?

I disagree. That is a daft comment not to mention Sid broke boundaries on the reel to reel. Unlike anyone and he literally was the first to do what he did outside of a garage.

Why is Pink Floyd more popular and appealing than Rush?

Rush was kinda creepy and nerdy for my taste. I wasn’t into that scene. I was into chilling and solving the worlds problems to the ambience of Sid Barret’s Opal. Thats the real topic here.. early PF or Post Barrett PF???

How bad (or good) was your first bass?

hmm.. i found my first bass dumpster diving in my early 20’s… that was a long time ago. and all I have to say it was fun to mess around with but it had zero musical control. The neck was super warped. But it was free! Some months later I was inspired to get something better traded it for a...

Looking at used basses is just so depressing lately...

If it is a bass you enjoy playing, sounds the way you want it to sound, and is for sale… Idk man, I find it difficult to be picky about a price tag if the instrument is in good shape and it is what I want. Within reason of course. I totally understand though and the beautiful thing about...

I Think I’m Done With Class D Bass Heads

Just waiting on my Subway 210 to show up tomorrow. I am going to pair it with a Subway 115 and TT-800. I must say how delightfully inexpensive this rig is on an aging body. Many of you younger guys and girls out there reading this thread may not consider the “back” tax you pay after years of...

How are Pink Floyd considered PROG rock?

Maybe, but I lean towards they always have been a flavorful evolution of psychedelic rock. thats a tough one. Barrett was probably the pioneer of it all. From Pink Floyd’s earlier and lesser known “Scream Thy Last Scream Old Woman In A Casket” to Sid Barrett’s very own “Opel” album (which was...

Should I send it back? Opinions, please!

Sometimes the best things are the quirky things. The way I see it sometimes is as if the issue in question is a “quality control” concern as far as damage caused during build process or something along those lines, the instrument should indefinitely be sent back. However, if it is just a...
