I learned a lot in this thread. I own a dark glass vintage deluxe that I probably have no business with... but you'all are giving keen insight as how to work it in tastefully.

For what it's worth, the finish on my G&L maple fretboard is super thin/light. Very different than my Fender or Sire. No idea if they are all like that. But you already know what you like and it looks great to boot.

so just a few hours into my 120XL ownership and I'm quite pleased with it. Nice construction, good tone. Even in the unmolested tone settings - it's different than the Fender 100 which I think is closer to an actual & clean signal to output - but I very much like what the Roland delivers...
