    The Soundgear Club

And as if by magic, I put the new battery in again today and everything is working as it should. Took me about 30 seconds to realize I like the passive sound better anyway

    The Soundgear Club

One of the reasons I wanted the SR655 was the ability to go passive mode. I have an older SR755 that is active only with the bartolini pickups in it.

    The Soundgear Club

Got my SR 655 today from GC. This is the older one with PJ style pickups. Opened it up and plugged it in sounded great! Flipped the passive/active switch to active and nothing but quiet distorted tone. Ran to the store and bought a couple new 9 volts, put one in and same quiet sound. Tested that...

Actually I probably wont ever other than curiosity. I think a 10 over a 15 would sound good.

ANOTHER DAISY CHAINING QUESTION I know, normally effects loop out from master to effects loop in to slave NORMALLY But my rumble 40 doesn't have an effects loop. Should I use my Rumble 200 as the master and send effects loop out to the input on top of my Rumble 40?

New bass. Good news and bad News

I'd at least ask them to send the case.

I've played my lap steel through my R200 and it sounded fantastic. Just needed a reverb pedal.

Time to tell the truth: how much does your bass weigh?

    My Ibanez SR755 8.6 pounds.

Geez, it's been awhile since I did this. I'll have to hook it up that way again and let you know. My impression was that it sounded great but I'll never really need to do it.

Plugged the bass into the R200, ran a cable from the R200 Effects send to the R40 input jack on top.

I think 140 watts into the internal 15. It's plenty loud.

    Fender Rumble Club

The Rumble 200 has all the volume I'd ever need, but just for giggles I daisey chained my R40 into the R200. They sounded great together. The clarity of the 10 and the bloom of the 15 sounded great. To me it was more about tone than volume.

Basses you wanted to love, but couldn't.

Fender jazz v deluxe. Too heavy and bulky. I'll stick with my Ibanez SR755. Lightweight, thin neck, nice narrow string spacing. Practically plays itself.

    NBD: Ibanez SR655e

I've been wanting one of those for awhile now. Either a 655 or 605. Thinking about trading my Fender jazz V Deluxe in on one. Just have to wait for the weather to allow me to make the 2 hour trip to GC
