My first amp was a '64, just like that. Bass plugged into the bass channel and Farfisa mini plugged into the Normal channel.

I guess you're visualizing a 1-10 on the controls instead of the less confusing Clock knob Reading. 
Plus, you may need to reduce the Gain on the R40, 25, or 15 to keep from overdriving the input singnal. That's the only caveat given. But, perhaps, even that may not give what you expect from the smaller amp, so you may need to adjust other controls, too.
I've been a Bassman fan for a long time and have mentioned here many times how my modern Bassman 500 w115 Neo is very comparable to my Rumble 500, but with more bells and whistles! Yes, the Bassman can get some better tones due to the bells & whistles! But, for gig situations, the R500 is close enough and more portable. For recording, though, I'd choose the Bassman.

So, if I extrapolate all the "chaining" and "extending" info here correctly, can I conclude that you can connect the R100 to R200 via FX Send-Return AND another extension cab to the R200 via EXT Speaker OUT for grand total of an R300 with 100W to each set of speakers? Hypothetically...

An' when yer playin' that big stadium gig alls ya gots to do is connect two Rumble 800 HDs together by FX Send to FX Return an' plug in eight 8 ohm 410 cabs into 'em to blow 1,600 watts through thirty-two 10" speakers. Who needs PA support?

Here's what the Rumble 100/200 stack looks like. I threw the 15 in for good measure. In my home studio, the 100 gets most of the workload because it records best with a mic. The 15 lives in my bedroom for practice, and it is also great for jamming with unplugged acoustic guitars. I use the 200 on stage because I love the 15 inch speaker. Rumblesville

I have several of those that I made to keep down vibration in the studio. They are made from 2x4s with gaffer's tape covering the ends to make them black like the foam pipe insulation I wedged them into. I only have one Auralex pad, and these really seem to do the same job pretty well. If I put an amp on the floor, it will be sitting on two of these.Very cool, T!
