Fender Rumble Club

I have several of those that I made to keep down vibration in the studio. They are made from 2x4s with gaffer's tape covering the ends to make them black like the foam pipe insulation I wedged them into. I only have one Auralex pad, and these really seem to do the same job pretty well. If I put an amp on the floor, it will be sitting on two of these.

Secret weapon, indeed! Good on ya, mate!

In the 70s-80s, I had steady gigs-3 to 6 nights/week, unlike now where they're all one night, load in/out bookings. Never a backline, our own amps, drums, PA. So I'll take the Rumble combos over anything 2 or more pieces that I hafta schlep. That said, my favorite amp(s) ever were the 2 1963, 6g6b circuit 7ender Bassmans I had-and stupidly sold. My R100 and 200c come close for a lot less PITA. And $$$.

Wow what a beautiful rig. Perfectly worn/relic'd, but earned their keep. Next time you feel dumb about that, think about the 1950s national tube amp that I put on the curb. It looked and worked fine. It had a matching 1950s national debonair guitar that I kept. I cannot find it anywhere, and the nationals I do find are nothing like it and $2000 easy, it was bought by my uncle at 12 years old (he might a been 17, me about 2) ,that would be dumb.

Did that guitar look anything like this? This is awesome at just $900.

Nice !!! Yours ? I just had mine set up so it gets played again. The Amp was a brighter tweed, black ceramic handle, open back. The grille was black with a white outline of a glider (or albatross I'm not sure which ) it almost looked like a chalk sketch only sharper. I've never seen anything like it before or since.

Man I just wish I had that set. It was the eighties and my pedals didn't go well with it. No overdrive but it did have a tremelo circuit...

The neck adjustment was under the front strap mount. It tilts the neck to and fro at the pivot point. One large bolt to adjust and smaller one to keep it from loosening.. .

Going on this, there is no issue going from effects out on my 500R to the input jack on my 100R, from the effects out on the 100R to the input on my 40..... ?????? OH man I'm doing this tomorrow yeah (I have practicing to do anyway)

Nope, no danger of damage FX Send to Input jack, but need to reduce the Gain on the Input amp (and maybe adjust other things. However, your R100 has a FX Return, so it's better to use that.

Oh! Did you mean to connect all three? Yeah, R500 FX Send to R100 Input, then R100 FX Send to R40 Input will get all three in sync. But the R100 and R40 may take some EQ to get the sound you want.

Thank you Mr. G. Oh man this just keeps getting better and better doesn't it. It's typical of my dreams where those silly real life limitations don't exist....

As far as the R100 EFFECTS return, that would be good for Input from a 40 effects Send ? Or just go from bigger Send to smaller amp return, etc...

Nope, not mine. (I wish) I just like searching google images for cool stuff.

Is this more like the amp?

Oh man I haven't seen that bird since around 1990. That amp is the closest I've seen. I'd probably do my best to buy it on the spot. Mine was less shaped like a suit case, lower and wider, but at how close this is.... wow.
I wonder if it's feasible to plug that into a variac type unit for a little bite...

Oh I'm talking in circles at this point. From the send to the input, not the return...

the R40 has neither FX Send nor FX Return. It can receive via Input and/or send via the XLR Out, that's all.

The FX Send to FX Return can only work for two amps and gives control to the sender.

The FX Send to Input can, theoretically, work for as many amps as you got, but every amp uses its own controls, which may need some/lotta tweaking for the sound(s) you want.

Maybe more like this, but with a black handle? This is called a Tremo-Tone.

This would have to be it. The 985 well it couldn't get all that much better, that's if there was ever one available
My uncle said he bought it around 67, what I didn't realize was it was 12 years used, or not that far from the start of electric guitar. It'll always bug me to think about that, but at the time I just bought my Jackson and crate and distortion pedal, I couldn't just keep this " old junk " around taking up space and collecting dust. Oh boy. I had no idea what I was doing lmao
