Olive green bass - yay, or nay?

I bought a USA music man SUB a number of years back and reshaped the body to add the contours and refinished it in olive green. Love that bass and love the colour. So my vote is 100% yes.

NBD - Birth year and month Fender Precision bass

Thanks, I have a post on all the work I did in the refinish of that bass, contoured the body and refinished it. Absolutely love it, it has been my only bass for the last few years, but it is a boat anchor. Was about 10.5 lbs before and after contouring and drilling out some relief under the...

    Bass older than you?

Just posted my NBD but my new main is 20 days older than I am based on the date written on the neck.

NBD - Birth year and month Fender Precision bass

I am turning 40 this year and have been looking for a birth year bass for a number of years. The other day I came across this beauty and snapped it up. It is a 1984 Fender MIJ JV 62 precision bass. Neck stamp date is the same year and month of my birthday, only off by 20 days. Plays extremely...

Best Fender Jazz for heavy music

Pretty sure it’s a precision bass neck. But that would be my choice. I have always liked the Mark Hoppus.

Would you keep it or return? Completely loose truss rod and no relief.

I am an idiot, it is a dual action truss rod. I kept spinning it and it started to tension the other way. Never had a dual action truss rod so when it went slack I thought I was hooped. This is why talk bass is great, helps solve silly user error.

Would you keep it or return? Completely loose truss rod and no relief.

Thanks for the responses, I am going to return it. I would love to get another BB, but they don’t have any so would likely have to order one. It’s my second experience with a 5 string, first didn’t take, but I really started to love it. So now I am back at square one to find another 5 for a...

Would you keep it or return? Completely loose truss rod and no relief.

I bought a brand new Yamaha BB735 two days ago that I love the sound and feel of, but I was doing a truss adjustment to add a little concave to the fretboard as it is dead flat and I need a little relief to get the action to the right spot. I adjusted the truss to loosen it to get a bit of...

Do you ever have buyers remorse over something stupid like a colour?

I personally would exchange. I have gone slightly cheaper for a colour I was “ok” with and about 3 months later, all I could think was why didn’t I get the one I wanted.

NBD: Fender Road Worn Mike Dirnt Precision

That is a beauty! I love those Dirnt basses. The relicing is light and looks natural and the are just solid basses. Plus the white with maple is just a solid combo. Congrats.

NBRD - New Bass Refinish Day Musicman USA Sub

That’s a beauty green. The initial green I used was a custom mixed colour called jungle green metallic and it was really similar to your green. I ran into issues when applying the clearcoat and getting wrinkling and had to switch colours. Love a green stingray!

NBRD - New Bass Refinish Day Musicman USA Sub

Looks like they did a good job. Looks good with the white! I can tell you my skills for this are about a 1/10, I made a lot of mistakes and had to sand it back twice before I got it to work the way I wanted. I feel like now if I was to do it again it would be a lot easier.

    NBD! Gibson ES-335 Bass!

This is nice. I have always loved the ES 335 guitars, its a shame they didn't do more ES-335 basses, a really cool find. I would love to add one of these, the only thing is I have never even seen one in the wild.
