I'm hoping Sweetwater gets their first shipment in tomorrow *crosses fingers*

It's not that I'm unhappy with my sound. I just know I've liked my EMGs and I'm trying to decide on a new bass. The Ibanez SRT800DX (EMG 40-DCs) or the Ibanez SR1400 (Nordstrand Big Singles). I actually just got an e-mail back from Fodera today. I'm scheduling a visit.

Talking to my guy at Sweetwater. He said June probably for the 1400 models and August for the 1200s. With the date so far out though he said it is kind of unpredictable.

So it sounds like you've had good experience with EMGs as well. What do you like about the Big Singles as far as sound characteristics?

I can agree with that. Sometimes the highs are too high and brittle as you put it. I just want to be able to get the lowest lows and super clean highs. That's why I've always gravitated towards EMGs but I can agree on what you're saying.

So hands down in your opinion? Why so? Haha.

Walter, Could you elaborate? I've grown accustom to liking the EMG PJs sound but the 40-DCs aren't bad either. Just haven't heard much of a comparison between EMG and Nordstrand overall in sound.
