Grammys Mumford & Sons... Sideways Ampeg 810

Not impressed. By any of the acts so far.

    Grammys

That's weird. It looked like the kick drum had another pedal, and it wasn't a double kick pedal. I couldn't hear the DB either.

    "Girl Bass Player Club" here!

I play bass and drums in my church. Not at the same time :D lately I've been alternating from week to week, depending on the availability of other players.

What's great about the 'Badass' bridge?

Why would I make that up? I've got a swell idea! I'm going to go on talkbass, and just make stuff up out of thin air, yeah! It happened on my fretless Dean bass. I put flat wounds on it, to keep the fretboard from wearing out (plus I kind of like the tone), and it didn't get played much...

    Who else plays drums?

Cool, I like hearing everyone's observations, and stories. I had one of those Muppet Show drum sets when I was a kid. I always thought I would be a drummer, until I heard a bass live. But I always sort of approached music from a drummer's kind of mindset. I chose to play bass after a friend of...

What's great about the 'Badass' bridge?

I've had my stock bridge bend, from the tension of flat wounds. The Badass II on my Geddy lets me drop my action real low, and it's beefy. So, if your stock bridge fails, or doesn't give you the adjust-ability you need, then a Badass is a good bridge to have.

    Who else plays drums?

I just got a drum kit. I've played the djembe at my church pretty good, and always wanted a drum set, but for whatever reason couldn't, and ended up playing bass for the last 20 or so years. So now I'm banging away for an hour or so everyday, trying to get enough chops to play in church, and do...

    Undiscovered Bass Maker?

One of my favorites is Shawn May. If I had some cash, I would have him build me one. www.maycustombasses.com

Any 5 string Players happy going back to 4 String bass?

I went from my main bass being a 5 string, then switched to a 4. I tune DGCF on my bass now, and it's great. I have the low D now which I use more then I used the low B.

Drop D Tuning and 5 Strings...

This is the never ending argument between 4, and 5 string players. I have a 5 string tuned BEADG, and I tune my 4 strings to DGCF. I use my 4 strings ten times more then the 5. DGCF is my favorite tuning, not just because so many guitarists are in drop D, but I use it for standard tuned stuff...

    If I get a 5'er...Stupidness lies ahead

That's what I would do. Get some DDT strings, and drop it to CGCF, or CFBbEb.

    Double Bass Tuning DGCF

That's the way I've been tuning my four strings for years. I use Custom GHS strings .110 - .07, and it helps with the tension. I really like this tuning, it's like gaining two extra frets.
