Interesting . . . so let's say you are covering Lamb of God's "Redneck" which is in drop D and the next song is Metallica's "Fight Fire With Fire", which is in E standard. If you were only using one bass, I'd assume you'd have to use the drop D bass since you couldn't get the low D for Redneck...
