Best of the "fly rig" genre of multi-effect?

I'll second Steve's comment. I use a Tech 21 Acoustic fly rig for bass. Has a good tuner, passable compressor, good boost, REVERB! (which I love!) and a usable chorus/delay. This pedal has almost convinced me to go ampless. I would like to try the bass version, but this acoustic does so well...

Need help on choosing short scale flats!

Wow, thanks for all the replies! I am not buying another set of strings looking for a sound, I HAVE to buy new strings and WANT a certain sound out of them. Thought for a long time it was dead rounds until I put the Fender flats on the P... Oh yes, now we're talking! I've had the chromes for...

Need help on choosing short scale flats!

Thanks Michael T. Hadn't even thought about groundwounds. I was worried that the Dunlops would sound more "modern", based on some of the reviews I've read. I'm just trying to narrow it down, because I'll be stuck with these strings for a while. Maybe I should move the chromes over to the...

Need help on choosing short scale flats!

So, just finished refinishing my Bronco Bass from black to some sort of aqua color (I'm not good with colors so that's about as specific as I can be!) So my dilemma: I like dead rounds, broke a string a while back and just replaced it with a single and was whining on here about the zing on that...

    I HATE new strings!

Ok, update... I took everyone's advice and ordered a set of Fender flats. I am a convert! I'll never by rounds again! I may be in the minority here, but I think they make the tone knob actually usable. I'm on a budget, so it will be a while before I can try different sets to really dial it...

    I HATE new strings!

Just to clarify, I did put a new SET of strings on, but holy moly! That was too much! Figured I'd put the good strings back on So I could stand to play again. So I did the Eucerin cream on the new strings, few times now. Seems to work well, back to a dead sound but with bright, clean looking...

    I HATE new strings!

Thank you Michael. And to Jimmy M for that post. Stopping by the drug store after work!

    I HATE new strings!

So long story short, my drummer thought he was Bootsy and broke my G string (on my bass!) My wife has stated I need a tetanus shot to touch my bass, so I bought new rounds. Another long story short... my bass now has 3 old strings and 1 new string that sounds awful! I've read on here that...

The Squier Mini Precision Bass Club

Here is my ask of you fellows that have one of these in hand: Will they fit a strat hard case or bag? I can't seem to find the total length of these little basses anywhere. This will be my next bass, but I need a way to schlep it around with all the other stuff. Wish Fender would do a run...

Any opinions on the old Kustom tuck n rolls? Any good?

Well, I have the same setup but in black and the best thing I ever did to it was put the head on an old Peavey 2-15 cab! The Peavey is about the same height, a little wider and MUCH deeper. Sounds great. I love the amp, but the cab is not that good in my opinion. But they do look cool!

Anyone else have Logo "Reverse Prejudice"?

Well, I was in GC with $800 to spend on my first bass and I walked out with a $250 Gretsch Electromatic Jr. bass. I hated the color (too close to black), didn't want a short scale bass (after reading on here and other places, I was sure that I needed a long scale), and can't stand the LP body...

    My squier project

Since ther have been no replies, I will get you going with a very generic response. Look up all the posts to whats been done already, as chances are anything you can think of will have already happened in some form or another. I would probably start with the pups, wiring and controls then move...
