Four String Bass Showdown - Sadowsky, Sandberg, Spector

Understand, regarding the NYC. I certainly would not expect it to be at NYC $5K level, but as a Sadowsky I would expect it to be above average. I will check-out your page for that review. And, nice bass playing on that track. Many thanks. Peace.

Four String Bass Showdown - Sadowsky, Sandberg, Spector

Price/performance ratio is vital for me also. I was curious if the MetroExpress maintains Sadowsky's quality fit-and-finish. Also, can that music track be purchased and does it include bass notation or tab? I grew-up listening to the O'Jays and many more of that era. (Hope I don't get in...

Luminlay size/style for incoming custom Sadowsky?

The black ring does indeed make a noticeable difference...I must remember that when the day comes for my "built for me" bass.

Luminlay size/style for incoming custom Sadowsky?

First, congrats ...really like your signature: "I play bass because...it shakes things"!

    Pretty Sadowsky Modern

That's a stunning looking bass. Did you install the pick-up covers or are they original from peavey? That's a keeper, sir.

Luminlay size/style for incoming custom Sadowsky?

First, congrats First, congrats on your new bass being built--that is special. Incidentally, I said to myself a few months ago if I could have the "one" bass to do it all, it would be the NYC model. The build quality is superb. Second, I don't have luminlay on my Jazz Bass but size #3 would be...

    Stinnett Finger Funk books question

Agreed. I like to think that after playing primarily by ear for 40-years, my ear is above average. ...playing along w/ Jim helped my phrasing and articulation significantly. It also helped improve my sound on a P-bass with flats. Peace.

The Official Short Scale Bass Club -- Part 4

I've often wondered what this bass really sounds like and plays like. Rare to find one in box stores these days. So you literally placed magnets on the bottom of the pick-ups? Anything added so the magnets don't dislodge or are they strong enough to stay in place? I'm not an electronics guy...

The Official Short Scale Bass Club -- Part 4

Well, well, someone else said what I've felt for years (Although, this may represent another thread). I too really like the looks of the Ricks and almost bought one a couple of times, but I don't care for their sound. ...not bashing such a legenday bass; just my preference. Peace.

Nice post...I have the similiar bass. I like your mods especially the bridge cover. Are there any special considerations, etc in mounting your bridge cover? I may change tuners; one of mine is a bit loose.

Glarry has a new 6 string bass

I’m very interested in one; wish I knew someone to help me lear how to do a set up. What brand of flats do you plan to use? Also, would you recommend Dunlop strap locks? Thanks. Peace.
