    Famous musician in a restaurant...

OK I remember. After a gig I was hanging out (with the people who were hanging out) with Alan White and Tony Kaye (they performed with Circa) and I noticed that Alan White (or was it Tony Kaye...I forget!) needed a beer and I jumped at the chance to buy one. So don't I say "hey I'll get that!"...

    Famous musician in a restaurant...

The morning after a show at the hotel I was pleased to see Robert Fripp eating breakfast amongst a very crowded mix of fans and regular families staying at the hotel (I'm sure they had no idea who he was). There was about one seat available and he asked if he could have it. I would've really dug...

    Dummy Bass Cabs

Wow. I love it here. I was also thinking something not-so-nice about dummy cabs, but all you guys just set me straight again. And I gotta laugh a little. Anyway, if I was going to make dummy cabs, I'd want them to look pretty good, or I'd be afraid the audience would also think some...

    Albums that you consider "perfect"...

Scrape up? Sorry, if it's "scraped up" it ain't perfect. I think I'd need to consider my answer a week before I could choose just one. I have hundreds of CDs/albums that I go overtly bananas for (including lots that are mentioned in this thread; my friends wanna commit me to the funny farm for...

How to remove a broken screw???

How did you keep the rivet from moving?

How to remove a broken screw???

Just be careful, especially if you use a bolt extractor, as they can make a big mess. Many woodworkers and mechanics won't even try one. (Reason being, if you snap the extractor in the hole, it's hardened steel, and you'll have trouble drilling that.) The end goal is to leave a hole behind that...

    Show your pet

Do you like to climb trees or something? :p Certainly you're not possessed by ghosts and demons the way Zots is!

Oddest injuries, had mine last night

Well, I didn't have any injuries while playing (well, the usual blisters when drumming), but these two certainly had the potential to slow me down... Enjoy (especially if you're a bloodthirsty creep!) :D Link Removed Honestly, the band saw bite photo doesn't do the injury justice. I was...

    Modern prog album suggestions

Don't have any CDs., but saw them at Nearfest 2007, and they were awesome. Super show - lots of drama, and the band and in particular the singer/drummer were JAMMIN. Yeah, I know, this is TB (I bet the bassist was friggin good too).

    Double sharps?

Double-sharps are just what they seem to be - two sharps. So if a sharp is a half-step (one fret) up, then a double-sharp is two half-steps (two frets) up. Wow. The first responder???

Nice and easy songs to play along to

I used to jam along with The Lawrence Welk show. No joke. Very good professional musicians playing loads of standard chords changes, and lots of room for scales and improvisation whenever you want. And how could you not be HAPPY when watching TLWS? And, since they don't repeat too many songs...

so what the heck IS prog rock these days?

What I wanna know is how to find prog musicians in my area (if you live near south-central PA and can play, say, Spock's Beard or The Flower Kings etc etc etc etc etc etc [or wanna try anything "prog"] drop me a message.) I do apologize if this treads too far toward solicitation, but it's a...

    Drummer joke...

Hey did you hear about the drummer who locked himself in the car? It took the bass player an hour to get him out. :bassist:
