Anyone responding that add is probably a douche drummer who doesn’t think they are a douche drummer. My band (in Boston) just auditioned the perfect guy for them!
My Mayday arrived this morning and I have to say the purple finish is amazing.
I had a few minutes to compare the PMLE and the Mayday and it’s like Nathan mentioned…the Mayday sounds a bit thicker, I’d say a bit more vintage sounding while the PMLE a bit more modern with the clearer...
Ugh, I have a PMLE and love it (hasn’t left my board since I got it). I had been saving up to try a Capo but used the funds on a Mayday. Anxious to compare them and see which one stays and maybe sell the other. If history is any indication though I will keep them both haha.
Just be careful on any import fees. I ordered a few rockboard slider plugs to connect some pedals on my board…I and went through the same thought process. I ordered enough to make the shipping seem bearable. The total cost was $27 for the handful of couplers and $25 for shipping…when UPS...
Totally agree with Winston on the value of this mod on a 70s spaced jazz bass. I have it on my 70s vintera jazz bass and would say it’s my go to tone on that bass. I haven’t bothered adding it to my other jazz bass, probably more out of laziness than though :)
Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but since it’s about a pedal purchase, figured it belongs here.
TL;DR: The Sound Shoppe NYC and the owner, Dave, are awesome. He really stands behind what he sells, which is super rare these days. If you ever come across his site and see...
This sounds great! I picked up one of these from guitar center earlier this year and love the look of the bass…and the neck is beautiful…but I haven’t taken to the stock pickup. This pickup could give it new life, and maybe keep it from the chopping block. :)
Keep an eye out for a Southampton all things equal pedal. It essentially is a toggle between 2 gain levels designed to volume match different guitars. The v1 is a small 1590a form factor the v2 is a larger pedal but includes the fifth gear drive circuit as well. V2 shows up on reverb frequently
How do you put it in the case? Does it pop off easily and reattach with just connecting back up a couple cables or is your case large enough to accommodate the riser?
I’ve been looking at them for a while and thought if it could pop on and off I could mount a cioks expansion under the riser...
