That's strange, I have a set screw knob on my NG2's rotary selector (the remaining knobs do not have a set screw). I rotated the knob so that I'd be able to see the set screw whilst playing, and that helps me to see which pickup selection I'm on. From what I remember when I made the adjustment...

Bit late to the party but Sheldon has said at least a couple of times over livestream Q&As that if you'd like a fanned fret 7+ string bass, he would rather you contact and support a local luthier who would be able to make one for you - which tells me there isn't enough demand for him to justify...

I've had my NG2 for about 5 months now. Last night I noticed what I thought was dirt stuck on the volume knob, which I tried to clean off - turns out it seems to be the finish on the knob breaking down. (rotation to show which bits are not part of the reflection of my room) Any other...

Thanks, I underestimated the ball end to saddle length quite a bit! Looks like the D'Addario/Ernie Balls won't do. As for the tensions, forgive my ignorance but are the Dingwall/etc. strings (specifically for fanned frets) designed to have lower tensions than conventional standard scale...

I'm moving back home soon where I won't be able to buy Dingwall/Payson/etc. strings as easily. I'm curious if anyone uses D'Addario/Ernie Ball Super Long Scale strings for their Dingwalls? Looking at the ball end to taper lengths, the D'Addarios (38") and Ernie Ball (38.25") strings seem like...

Thanks, yeah I did see that post but couldn't get my head around the wiring diagrams, I suppose I'll figure it out when I get round to doing the mod! What's the difference between the 2- and 4-pole StewMac 6-way switches?

How would one go about acquiring a custom rotary switch for different pickup combinations? I went with the NG2 because I wanted both the series and parallel "MM" combinations (which neither a 3X nor a D-Bird NG3 would have satisfied), but would definitely consider getting another pickup + switch...

Yeah, gave it probably less than half a cm before stopping. Taking no chances! I didn't use the wax on my previous bass but the threads on the screws just so happened to match up so I got lucky in that regard, though I would have been less worried about stripping the wood on a cheap Soundgear

Had a go, won't fit and I'm not gonna force it. Don't have access to a drill right now so I guess it'll have to wait.

Thanks, I tried searching the forum for something about S-Locks but didn't find your posts - reckon I am just being paranoid after all. Will give it a go in the morning :D

NBD! Not the best picture/lighting but I reckon you guys have seen a Purple NG2 elsewhere before :) Plays like a dream, looks amazing; really happy with it so far. The fan frets/additional stretching on the longer strings will take some time getting used to for sure. Just a little question...
