RE: how is this virus affecting the lifestyle of us bass players:
I'm not seeing much of a difference in my own life. I still have a job that's deemed essential (we rent computers and related equipment to businesses to allow their employees to keep working from home, so we fall under "media" and "IT" and "office equipment" categories) so I still commute on much smoother freeways back and forth 5 days a week.
My g/f just lost her job but does qualify for unemployment and we have some savings, so we're okay there as long as she's not out of work for a year or something.
I wasn't gigging but my band was literally on the verge of sending our finished album to be mastered when the "safer at home" orders were issued for us. This was the last step before hiring PR, doing interviews, lining up some local gigs and rehearsing, so, if this had to happen at any time, the timing worked out for this particular project.
My g/f and I (who have lived together for 16 years) are both healthy at the moment, as are our families and friends. Her father, mother and brother all live in the same house in Asheville, NC and are doing what they should be. I have no living family, so that's one less thing to worry about, I guess.
I am supposed to be receiving my 10 year anniversary Combustion this month (according to Jason at FretNation) but still no word beyond that.
I haven't been practicing as much as I should, either. Gotta get on that. Been trying to focus on slapping, popping and tapping as far as technique goes and also writing songs in different modes than I usually use, which is helping me little by little to break out of the box I had put myself in.
Gonna start demoing some new songs I have written later this month or in May.
