I almost twice purchased a single cut. But decided I just don’t like how they look. Pre-Biased for sure, as I may would get one and love it. They all seem a bit strange to my mind, though.

That's how i feel about headless - they just don't look right. I'm sure they're great - but i just cant get past the visual - (agree about the single-cut too) Stay safe guys

Not bad at all. Not quite right on the ergonomics I think as I bet a single cut would need a complete redesign vs existing body but you did a good job IMO.

That’s said I wouldn’t buy it. Lol.

I saw one once and it made me think right away of the "Elephant man" of basses.

The single cut thing never really appealed to me. They just look heavy, with all that extra wood. I miss all the graceful curves of a nice upper horn.

I love the clean, sweeping curve of the AB’s from upper to lower, right across the neck.

Got happy news today that they WILL do push/pull pots for me on the Super P/J build I just set in motion. I think that given the passive electronics and fairly straightforward (vol/switch/tone) setup having the ability to switch pickup coils parallel/series will provide some tonal leeway.

Personally I really like having 3-way switches on dual coil pickups to switch between single coil, series and parallel. A few builders do that, I don't know why more don't. The three tones are nothing like each other. Flipping from parallel to series is like an instant mid boost for a solo. But sometimes you really want the jazz bass tone of a single coil.

I'm good with two way "Series/Parallel." On active basses it's a bit less of an issue for me, but once you have a passive one, being able to drop the pickups into parallel kind of lessens the mid-bump and lets you slide back in the mix a bit. I used to use the BluEQube on my AB1 that way in a live setting. They stopped BluEQubing sometime around 2005-2006 or so because the Parallel/Series switches became more ubiquitous with the standardization of the 4L pickups and found it was a bit redundant with the pickup coil options.

At the same time, part of what I don't want is a P-Bass with a bunch of switches...the beauty of that beast is that it remains simple both visually and electronically.
