my new bass with a cool story.

My RBX550 is not going anywhere, it is here to stay. I might have it refinished back to original, the finish had yellowed and has lots of serious cracks. At the same time i might leave it alone, it is one of those instruments that shows it has lived a life on the road and smokey bars...

my new bass with a cool story.

My adoptive father has heirloom instruments. His are some squeeze boxes that his 3x great grandfather bought in the 1890s, definitely cool to seem them. Seeing them brought out is a very rare occasion, i have only heard them played a handful of times in my life. It is cool to see that...

my new bass with a cool story.

I know i did not put this in the original posting, but my father had searched for the bass nearly 2 decades. He was in very poor health when this all happened, so it was good to see him feel some relief of reliving his younger days. I was adopted into another household (was because of my...

my new bass with a cool story.

Weight is id say in the 7.5lb area, so it is really light, well compared the my other basses. Not sure what string are on it, i have not restrung it yet.

my new bass with a cool story.

So i recently became the owner of a 1987 YAmaha RBX550. It is a cream/white color. Has a P/J set up and is very light weight. It isn't the most collectible or highest quality bass ever, but the story is what will ensure i never let it go. So flashback to 1987, my father went into Engel Music in...

    Wrist Pain

I had my finger hurt, but never awful wrist pain, However i developed mild carpel tunnel, as i work with my wrists at angles all the time, whether it be music or wrenching on cars. There are stretches that can help pain and numbness, put your hands in front of you (palms up) and push on...

    Squier Classic Vibe 2019

I might have to pick up a bass vi, i have wanted one for a while and while im at it, i might get the 70's Strat in daphne blue. As it looks, some of the new CVs are really just re-branded VMs. On sweetwater there are 70s cv Jazz basses in natural, looks oddly like a 70s jazz bass from the VM...
