The first bass i ever touched..hmmm. I think it was a squier p bass. Black with a white guard. Have owned a "few" basses since then!

I was a drummer when I was a kid, but later wanted to try the bass. I bought a 1995 Memphis p bass in sunburst. My girlfriend, (now my wife), bought me a 96 Fender jazz bass American deluxe for my birthday in blueburst which I still have. I gave away the Memphis.
I was in the local shop, Ed's Music, in my hometown and there were a couple Spectors on the wall. Think it was the only time they ever had them, as they really only dealt in Fender and Squier as far as bass was concerned.
Anyway, I was standing there just looking at the basses, and the guy behind the counter told me I could play one if I wanted. I told him I didn't know how to play, and he said I should give it a try anyway to see how it feels and sounds. So I picked up a Spector and I was plugged in. Made a couple random noises and messed around, had no idea what I was doing, but thought it was cool af.
Ended up buying my first bass there, and spending countless hours there. I credit the positive and encouraging atmosphere as a big part of the fact that I actually ended a bass player.

I have a few of those 25.5"-scale, six-string piccolo basses too.

No idea, it was at our wedding in '77; my cousin got up to sing and play a couple of songs with the band, and the bass player hands his instrument to me. I said I have no idea how to play. He says it doesn't matter, just find some notes that work, nobody will care but everyone will remember. I found a couple of notes that worked (I had a lot of keyboard training.) Takin' Care of Business, I believe. Somewhere around the place is an 11x17 of me in my white tux, but I haven't seen it in over four decades. I should try to dig it out again and see what it was.
Fast forward to 14 years ago, I'm 50 and going with a friend that plays guitar to a jam night, my buddy's band hosted it. He gets up to play . . . and the bass player hands me his Warwick I said I have no idea how to play. He says it doesn't matter, it's only three notes, here, I'll show you.
Two weeks later, I show up with my brand new bass, and . . . . . . . Now I tell people I play in a rock and roll band, how cool is that?! OH, wait, ou guys know.

1960's Mosrite Celebrity short scale bass. Red sunburst finish. It was my first bass guitar.

Hofner Shorty Bass - original version from mid 80's. Wish I still had it. Like this:
A Fender Mustang that my Junior High School band teacher handed me when he noticed I was playing single notes instead of chords like the other kids in guitar class.
A 60s-something Danelectro Longhorn that belonged to a friend. This was in about 1970. I didn’t actually start playing bass for real until about nine years later. No pic, though my Jerry Jones Longhorn is basically the same bass, in the same color.
What would have been a 75’ era sunburst/rosewood board Fender P bass.

It was a Pink BC Rich Warlock bass. I wish I had a picture. It belonged to a guitarist friend who later traded it in on some other gear; he always tells me he wished he kept it. Me too!
