    SOLD Ibanez 2002 GWB-1

Hi, just wondering if you had the original bridge?, I'm looking for one for my SR885 and I believe that would be the same model bridge. Apparently these GWB kept the older style bridge when the other SRs moved to the Accu- cast, thanks!

Role of the bass player in a band

I look at it like which instrument would bring down a live song most by messing up, so in order of importance #1 Drums, if the drums stop the song stops #2 Vocals, so people have someone to look at #3 Bass, tries to hold #1 and #2 together #4 Guitar, as long as they are not too, too loud and...

    Ibanez SR885 replacement parts

Hey Busman, just wondering if you ended up replacing the bridge, if so I would be interested in the original provided the saddle and intonation screws are in good functional shape (not stripped) I have a couple SR885s and am looking to get an original bridge for backup/parts to keep them going...

    Future of music

I think live shows will be a big part of the future, people watching people, maybe smaller local shows which is bad for musicians hoping to get rich or even earn a living. I'm super excited about this band Jinjer from watching the live shows on youtube (lame I know, lol) but I can't imagine a...

How do you tune your basses (AT GIGS) with low E/B?

I've use cheap headstock tuners and sometimes they do seem to catch the 12th fret harmonic on the B string better, but I hardly ever need to tune during a song and am lucky to have some pretty stable basses

Why is low tuning on a bass the taboo of music?

It's probably left over prejudice against nu(with an umlaut) metal, blame Fred Durst

Is it "cooler" to play a 4 string bass?

I've experienced the anti 5 string prejudice first hand, and to make matters worse I play Ibanez SR885s a bass associated with KORN for goodness sake, the only thing less cool would be what ever bass the guys from Nickleback plays haha.

    Musicianship vs showmanship

Both crazy showmanship and just playing in jeans and tshirts can get the crowds into it. The main thing is the energy, my research (watching bands and the audience at the same time while drinking beer from a dark corner) has shown a strong 2 and 4 on the snare (for most music) or a strong 1 (for...

To me, the Bass should be felt more so than heard

Definitely a mix of both, I used to imagine I was sending waves through the floor up into peoples feet as weird as that sounds lol, but helped me focus on simplicity and the "one" beat. The kick drum and bass should be felt through the floor and then you would hear the click part of the kick and...

How many basses do you own? (Currently) Part 2

I have 3 identical Ibanez 5 strings, I live in a small apartment, I think 3 is the minimum number a gigging bassist should have: you should always have 2 to bring to a gig, hopefully!

Chicken Little again, or should we be watching for GC Sales?

But I kind of feel bad for the sales guys, theres a lot of hate out there, haha:

Chicken Little again, or should we be watching for GC Sales?

One great thing about Guitar Center is the huge used database, that at through my local one lets you order and return at the store if there are issues, but yeah the employees can be pretty bad, especially under what used to be commission sales

"is that a REAL les paul?"

Right, I believe one of Slash's favorites was a custom copy, same with one of Toni Iommi's SGs
