Ah, a Sharpie would be fine as long as I know it's not permanent. I didn't want to test it on my bass for obvious reasons.

That crossed my mind. It's not a particularly valuable bass, but I'd rather not permanently disfigure it if I can help it.

Hi. My Jazz Bass has, weirdly, white-on-white fret markers on the side of the neck. When I'm playing in a dark room they're pretty much invisible. I want to put black stickers on the neck so they're visible all the time. Have any of you done this? Any recommendations for the best thing to use...

What the heck, I'm going to go with Jethro Tull's "Bouree" (Glenn Cornick). Not the hardest or most technically challenging by a long shot, but it's so unusual and so creative. Really a brilliant solo, especially for its time.

I think this is an important point. Obviously individual instruments matter, but within reason a great musician can make any instrument sound good, and sound like them. Entwistle used many very different basses (Jazz, Precision, Ric, Thunderbird, Alembic) and always sounded like Entwistle. I...

Another note: To my surprise, I've found that on the impedance switch I like the 500 setting best, and I've left the bass set to that. Gives it a nice crunch, but no outright distortion.

I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Rotosound 66 guy, but I've left the stock strings (Dean Markley Blue Steel, I guess?) on the Casady and they sound just fine.
