My contribution to the thread:

LM Products X-Clef Worn Leather strap-bought it from Sweetwater a year ago. I didn't like the chemical smell of the foam padding so I put it out in the garage to off-gas. I probably should have returned it but then I gave it a relative of mine. I asked to check it out again and trying it I found it's not going to work for me.

Pros:
-chemical smell dissipated over time
-very thick padding

Cons (IMO):
-the padding is so thick that the strap is stiff. You can only fold it at the metal loop connector.
-maybe it's my own pickiness but I feel the metal loop that connects the adjustment strap on my back
-the smooth underside slides around on my shoulder
-some reviewers note that the strap is not for tall players. I am short and I had the adjustment at its shortest length. There is only one strap hole and I could have shortened it even more!

I had high hopes for this as it was very well padded and not too expensive so it was a disappointment. Onto the next strap!

The most comfortable strap ever was one I made from a western style horse cinch girth.
Un-paralleled for shoulder comfort. It certainly was a conversation starter too.

Well, I like the look and features of the LM so I ordered one from Guitar Center.
It’s not very long at 50”, but I measured my current strap and it’s at 48”
I’ll report on it when I get it. (Including if it has a chemical odor)

Real Leather and comfortable at being 4 inches wide and a light padding. If you want one with a design you make up its about 100. Still a bargain. The owner/maker is real nice and will send you pictures while being made so you can see if he is doing it right. Communication is amazing. He will always get back to you.

He may consider that. I had one made to order and I believe it was 100 dollars all together. But it the best strap I own. Looks great. Leather is better than most and it does not get that used look around the holes for the strap hooks/knobs. To me it is well worth the money. Also I ordered with no medal for adjusting. I have the old standard slots. As far as adjustment if you want short or long it does not matter its long and short enough for any size.

The Betty - Mono, $49.99

Overall, I've found this to be one of the most comfortable straps I've ever used, and I now have two of them. Still, there are some things about them that detract from their usefulness. The construction is bomb proof, the design is cool-looking, and it's animal-free, if that's important to you. The strap comes in long and short versions, and with two different material options in black and grey. The strap itself consists of a wide neoprene-backed section with memory foam, a wide nylon band with a metal buckle to make it adjustable, and synthetic rubber strap ends. The ribbed design makes it easy to fold, and makes the strap very gig bag friendly. The strap has a little pocket sewn on the back for picks. The only downsides I have found with this strap are the metal adjustment buckle and the rubber strap ends. The strap ends are nice and thin, and should fit most basses. The material is a little too soft, however, and the strap button escapes a shade too easily from the holes, which are also slightly too large. This makes the strap a little hair-raising to use, but can be mitigated with strap locks. However, I'd prefer it if the strap fit more securely without modification either to my basses or the strap. The other thing is the metal buckle. It's a little heavy, and as the strap is quite soft, it can hit the floor (or your bass) quite hard when you set your bass down in a stand with the strap attached. It also tends to slip a little over time. A plastic buckle would be better, and less likely to damage your instrument.

My verdict:
Comfort: 9/10
Design: 8/10
Materials: 6/10
Value for money: 8/10

Mono Betty strap

this is my second Mono strap. I let the first one go when I sold my Brubaker5

But I ordered in the Betty. long enough

Best comfort. My G&L is about 12.2 pounds so any advantage I can get, helps

Schaller strap locks is the ticket. Don't settle for cheap look alikes . Schaller won't break.

The Mono strap is for me . I store the original strap button s in the case in case

I've seen cheaper copys of the Mono. and I'm up for trying them

The LM arrived today. I played for about an hour. So far, I’m really liking it. It seems very comfortable and the bass hangs well.

I pleased to say that there is NO unusual odor, just a mild “new leather” smell.

I've tried several strapps but my favorite strapp is 'The Comfort Strapp'. It's a thick filled, wide strapp and feels very comfortable on my shoulders. It also didn't move while I'm playing the bass. Check: Comfort Strapp™ | Comfort Strapp™ | Comfort Strapp™ Guitar Straps

I love the Comfort Strapp and use them for all my basses.

They do have a lot of cool straps. Some look very comfy, too. I also like the vegan aspect as I feel bad that my only comfy straps are leather. Nothing I can do about those cows now but it would be nice to have a padded strap that isn't leather. Too bad you'd have to go custom for a wide one but the prices are certainly acceptable if I know my exchange rates.

Neotech Mega Bass Strap.
The only ones I have used for years. So comfortable, wide enough, with a little "bounce" in the neoprene being key to it's comfort. No sliding or shifting.
The only challenging part is choosing the right length. I never thought of measuring the length of my old straps, but it is a real help to not have extra or too little. They have 5 sizes for stringed instruments, plus other instruments (sax).
Usually around $40, but I see they are on sale today for $21!
Highly recommended.

Ok
I invested some money on a Neotech Mega strap.
I got one because of the shorter leather section.
I want more padded part on the collar bone.

But I find after comparing the two on my bass that it doesn't prevent neck dive on my fretted as well as a Comfort Strapp.
But I will keep it for my fretless.

So I also bought a 37" short Comfort Strapp for my fretted.
It has a very short buckle section.
