I have a 1978 Fender Pbass that I bought brand new in 1978. I liked it then and I like it now. Except that now it’s like an old friend. When we play together, it plays itself. It’s all in what you like.

There are 3 guys I've been in bands with since 1976. It started as a 5 piece rock band and then became a 3 piece acoustic trio. We've played in and off since then as far as last week. It was a love hate thing for a while but now making music with these guys is the best thing ever.

Anybody having trouble with input jacks? I was using a straight plug between my bass octave deluxe and envelope filter and now the octave pedal isn't working. I've tried the Fishman Fission pedal. I have a love/hate relation with this pedal. On paper, it's got the octave above. It sound good but isn't "organic" enough. There's a 5th above and a 4th below that only works with one note rhythms. I guess the real solution would be to get an 8-string or...

Tune down to Eb. That's the big thing I noticed in those days. Short story: my son went to Berklee College and they did a pitch test in one of his classes. Most of the kids thought E was F. It makes sense because his generation were teenagers in the 90's.

You can say no. It's your bass. I only let people I know and trust use my instrument. But if they're a little drunk then I say no.

I've got a Fender BG 32 NS with bronze strings and a stock Fishman Classic 4 pre-amp and sonic core pickup (stock). I've had it for several years now and it sounds great plugged or unplugged.
