Anybody having trouble with input jacks? I was using a straight plug between my bass octave deluxe and envelope filter and now the octave pedal isn't working. Did the straight plug cause too much stress on the jack? It's about a year old and probably out of warranty. So I may have to replace the input jack. Thoughts?

My beloved M188 Bass Auto Q died on a gig last week.:bawl:

Likely not too bad, but the footswitch stopped working (depresses, but doesn't engage the effect).

In any case, these are discontinued so I was going to fix it myself but I couldn't get the backplate off! Does MXR use weird proprietary Allen screws for this so the buyer cant get inside? Any ideas?

I have the bass compressor and envelope filter, but I must say that adjusting a compressor and an envelope is something that depends heavily on the bass and the way the player attacks the strings. It's very unlikely that two players with different basses get the same results with the same pedal settings. Anyway, here are my settings for those pedals when using my Stambaugh bass:

I was going to say something real smart like "yeah but you don't have the fuzz deluxe", until I reread your post. :)
Great set of pedals !

Order is subjet to one's experimentation, but here's what I would start with:

BASS > octave > filter > flanger > comp > OD > bass fuzz or deluxe > chorus > DI > AMP


I'm assuming you're keeping only one fuzz, if not, I guess they can go side by side. As for the flanger: the mxr micro flanger is notorious for volume spikes, that why I put it there. If it's not an issue with your rig, I'd put it right after flanger.
