OK, here we go. After a few hours of pedalboard gymnastics and knob adjustments, here's what I've got. My Diesel Dawg is not in the chain at the moment (being rehoused into a sensible enclosure) but I have rearranged my pedals. The chain is as follows:

Bass - MXR Bass Compressor - EHX Deluxe Bass Big Muff - MXR Bass Fuzz Deluxe - B3K - GK 700RB-II (Soon to be 1001RB-II!)

And now, the settings. All of these are for unity gain on MY setup, so you may need to tweak a bit. I'll skip the compressor, and use only the pedals I KNOW you have, Greg. I can give the others later, if you want.

Bass Fuzz Deluxe:
Dry: 9:30
Wet: 8:00
Tone: 9:00
Fuzz: 10:30

If I need more volume, I adjust the Dry and Wet Controls higher, but always keep them about 1.5 "hours" apart, like in this setting, to keep them at my preferred ratio. Typically, adding an "hour" to each gets me to the volume I need.

B3K:
Attack: Off
Grunt: Fat
Blend: 10:00
Level: 10:00
Drive: 10:00

This can change, depending on what sound I want. These settings give a nice tubey sound to the fuzz, like it's being run through a tube amp, instead of a tube amp being run through a fuzz box like I had before. If I want more "tube", I adjust the blend to noon or 2:00, and if I want more grit, I adjust the Drive to noon or 2:00. Adjust the blend and drive to get even heavier. Also, the Attack can be turned on to let the bright side of the fuzz through. I haven't really decided if I want more lo-fi fuzz, or brighter hi-fi fuzz, but I can get either with the flip of a switch. Let me know what you think!

I like the DI+ quite a bit, actually. I've been through two SansAmp units and I do l like this better. It doesn't quite have the retro sound of a VT Bass--it's more modern and less dynamic than that--but it is one of the better values out there in my opinion.

I'm still trying to figure out how to use it effectively for what I want. One thing seems clear, though: Drive up to noon and Mix 1/4 up seems to be the sweet spot for adding a bit of sizzle and edge. I also run the Color knob on all the time and compensate for it a bit by turning the Mid knob up to 3 o'clock.

Yeah, I've heard a lot of people prefer the DI+ to the SansAmp, which I was surprised to hear after so much praise being heaped upon the SansAmp. I don't necessarily want retro, and I do like the MXR products I have used, that's what turned me on to this. If I ever need a DI and have to go ampless, this will be at the top of the list. Have you ever used this live without an amp? Would this be able to approximate a GK 700/10001RB-II well enough if it had to?

I AM interested in that review! How did you know? Anyway, what do you mean by "saturated"? More distortion throughout the tonal spectrum? This thing sounds like it will be bought when I can get the funds. I think I'm finally getting my final rig figured out, after about a year of tinkering, testing, knob-twiddling and buying and selling like crazy. Very excited!

Well, after a lot of trying different spots with my OD and dist with the MXR Fuzz, I found this to be the best order. It seems that all my OD's and dist sound a lot better being fed into the fuzz as opposed to the fuzz being fed into the OD's and dist. It's sounds friggen awesome!! Talk about lip curling raunch and doom :)

I have had a MXR bass DI+ for a few years and use it all the time; for home, live and recording. I mostly leave the color button on except when I have a fretless plugged in - it's just a bit boomy from what I want to hear from these instruments. I imagine some tweeking could achieve a decent tone w/it on but usually I leave the settings constant. I also use the distortion as a high-end edge when I need more definition from the MXR Bass Fuzz Deluxe (which I also really like). A great pedal for the price.

I just got the M87 and am taking it through its paces. So far I like it but am having difficulty discerning just what the attack and release do. I know what they do technically (on paper), but can't hear much difference moving the levels around. I haven't had it in a live setting yet, just at home - but is there a way I can test the differences, or what should I be hearing?

I just want to make sure the pedal is not defective so I can send it back if it is.

Bass Chorus Deluxe owners: how are you liking the pedal, and have you compared them with other chorus pedals? I have a POG2 but I'm finding it makes everything sound like an organ...I know it's a digital pedal but it just sounds too digital. I do like the chorus effect I can get out of it though. I think I'm sending the POG2 back and would be really interested in a pedal that does chorus exceptionally well. Plus the flanger option on the Deluxe is a nice touch.

(this post is a little redundant, I posted something similar in a different thread, sorry 'bout that, just trying to find out more about this pedal because it looks promising)

edit: and if you play a bunch of chords, will that present a problem with this pedal?
