Why basses don't come with a HP filter in the electronics?

I'm pretty sure that it will have a HPF.

Why basses don't come with a HP filter in the electronics?

It's a long time since I've played with MM preamps but IIRC it was only the 3 band that had the HPF so if it has a 2 band then I doubt it.

Electric bass guitars that "sound like an upright"

Having played BG for a few decades before starting on DB I've found that the technique is very different. On DB you have to play half the number of notes that you would on BG, and then miss some of those out.

    DIY Stingray 3EQ Preamp

Yes, both pickup hot connections to the preamp input, both cold connections to the preamp ground. Link to a random website with a diagram (which probably makes more sense than my ramblings). It shows a 6 string humbucker but the same applies to bass humbuckers. The first diagram shows parallel...

What year did you start playing bass?

I've probably posted this before but these days I sometimes struggle to remember what I had for breakfast let alone what threads I have posted in (it's always cereal). 1967, I was 16

    DIY Stingray 3EQ Preamp

Sorry for not replying sooner but I've been out of circulation for a while due to a stay in hospital. Parallel connection is where both hot connections are connected together so the other hot connection should be connected to the input (and the ground connection to ground) otherwise you would...

    Weekend Warrior Stage Lighting Discussion

We have an RGB LED floodlight and a white "always on" floodlight on the top of each PA cab). One side RGB is set to "fade", the other "strobe", which is actually just a faster fade, so they change colour at different rates. Not what you would call a light show but - They illuminate us on an...

Magnets & Copper Wire: A Pickup Building Thread

RWRP is for a standard humbucker where you are adding (either series or parallel) the coil outputs. With a differential amplifier you are inverting one of the signals (coil outputs) so you need the coils wound in the same direction for the hum signal to cancel out, with one magnet reversed so...

    TBers online vs in person

I met up with a TB member from the USA when he was playing a gig in the UK as part of their European tour. We had a couple of beers together over the course of the evening and really a good chat.

Amp output connector A 1+ to Cab connector 1+ Amp output connector B 1- to Cab connector 1- Mark the amp connectors "A" and "B" and have adequate strain relief where each cable enters it's connector. You can create a "Y" as BurningSkies did by splitting the cable and applying heat shrink...

Double Bass Am I too old to get into an upright bass? Double bass?

As someone who has suffered from both carpel tunnel* and tendinitis** in the past I would say that as long as you learn good technique from the start you should have no problems. (I'm 71 y.o. and started learning upright about 5 years ago.) *Carpel tunnel caused by very intensive use of a PC...
