Is Deep Purple in the same league with Led Zeppelin?

LZ songwriting and studio mastering was a step up from DP'IMO. I loved both bands though. Great musicians all.

Going to look at a '74 Jazz bass. Kinda pricey??

I agree My 74 Had the 4 bolt neck. But condition looks pretty good in pics. If setup is good neck straight,I would think about it.

Ibanez srx 690e 4 string bass

I don't get it? Bass is tuned and setup with strings as low as possible with no fret buzz. I have been player since 70's and had 74 Jazz Bass originally, never any problems. Now Ibanez srx 690e bass and D tuner keeps breaking. 3rd time already. Standard guage strings. I just don't get it. Any...

    Berry Oakley's rig?

Berry was awesome. His melodic bass lines put their tunes into another dimension. One of my best choices of bass players. Tune I love playing most is Whipping Post.

    Berry Oakley's rig?

You're right. Warehouse Concerts best. Even one ,he mentions Fillmore album released one week ago,and selling great. I just keep looking up new concerts to save.

    Berry Oakley's rig?

I save every 69-72 concert I can find. The A Warehouse concerts are the best. Not counting Fillmore. Some high school concerts are great too. They were the best band back when. But when Duane and Berry died, they were never the same. RIP DUANE AND BERRY.

My heart goes out to his family. He was a milestone bass player who influenced many to play bass. A pioneer in the rock world. R.I.P. TIM BOGERT.....

    Who else hates jamming?

I look forward to jamming. Its the hilight of my week when my Bro's and I get together. We just start playin' and go from one tune to another, and go into the groove and eventually start improvising our own music. Lots of jams leave us speechless when we just went through 4 hours of nonstop...

    End of the road

Man We are all gettin' old. I started in late 60's, played until 1987 then stopped because of marriage. Kept just jamming for a few more years and then stopped, sold everything. Fast forward to 2019 66 years old by brothers (both musicians) wanted to jam out of a whim, and first jam,we totally...
