    Zoom AMS-22 Audio Interface

Try to get the U-24 or U-44. The U-24 offers much more for the same price, the headphone outputs are very good for the price (I own the U-44 for the digital inputs and battery option. 69,- [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

What are the flattest mixing headphones?

Do you really want to mix or do you mainly track or simply play? Some open headphones that are used for mixing and critical listening like the Sennheiser HD600 or AKG 701 don’t have much low end, well they have real low end, but don’t have an emphasis on 100-300 hz like many tracking or consumer...

    NPGD

You’ve turned it into an 80s bass. Reminds me of some of the last unique basses, Fender USA produced around 1982/1983. I like the look. I don’t like the feel of anodised pickguards.

Can a preamp DI signal (from a GK Plex) be equal or better than a DI Box?

Compressors/ Limiters don’t have to destroy dynamics. If you set a classic fast fet comp like a 1176 to a 4:1 or even just 1:2 rate and you set an appropriate threshhold, it just means that if you’re 4 db over the threshhold, your signal is 1 db or - in the case of 1:2 - 2 db over the...

Can a preamp DI signal (from a GK Plex) be equal or better than a DI Box?

A Di is a pretty simple device. It’s core function is to change a hz signal like a bass into a balanced mic-level signal, because this can be transferred over long distances without quality loss even in noisy surroundings like from the stage to a distant FOH mixing desk. They were not meant to...

Eastwood Hooky Bass 6 PRO club

Just stumbled upon this. Original review of the Shergold Marathon 6-string in the english music magazine “Sounds” (Sounds was a very important english music magazine, not one of these gear-magazines). This was published the same weekend as Joy Division played Leigh Festival. So maybe Hook did...

Trying to clean up a practice recording - Stereo

Find the ideal position for the recording mic in the rehearsal place. The PA speakers and the amps should be directed at the stereo mic. Take care that the tweeters of the PA speakers aren’t out of reach for the directionality of the mics (high frequencies are highly directional). If you got...

Fender American Vintage '63 Precision Bass Appreciation Thread

I have to excuse myself, although I am well aware that there is no excuse: I mistook Fiesta Red for Candy Apple Red. Fiesta Red is fine with me:) The Dunn and the VI I bought and love despite the Candy Apple Red:

How can you like Fiesta Red more than Seminole Red? I have two basses in Fiesta Red - a Bass VI and a Duck Dunn. Maybe I refinish them in Seminole Red to restore the balance of this world?

You own one of these rare creatures in seminole red and plan to refinish it? You're a mean bass player and should be dispossessed! :rollno:

The Fender Jazz Bass Club Part Seven!!!

It’s very similar to the American Vintage Series I '64 Jazz Bass, same pickups. Main difference is the '61 stacked vol./tone pots.

Official Eventide Stompbox (H9/Factor Series) Club!!!

Completely agree with you, you really sumned up, what they are about. Despite this, I have to say that some of the amp-algos and even the Octaver sound quite good.

Is there a Yamaha BB club? There is now!

O.K., and the “S” versions are active. I bought a made in Taiwan BB1100S in the late 80s and thought it would be comparable, but it wasn’t, although nearly as expensive as the Japanese ones. I never played one of these Japanese early 80s BB basses. One of the few things I haven’t done in bassland.

Is there a Yamaha BB club? There is now!

That BB2000 looks so iconic. I first thought it would be a BB1200. Is it neck-through, but passive?
