I honestly don't know. And I didn't care @ the time. I could tell his focus wasn't w/ me after he was late twice. He knows his stuff though. As far as finding another teacher is concerned, I'm taking my time to find the right fit. Someone who plays jazz and classical and who uses a German bow.

I don't have a teacher right now. First one moved too far away, second had an audition with Jamarioqui(sp) then started coming late to my lessons.

I can execute vibrato while playing pizz till the cows come home. It's something about arco that throws me off. Focusing on my arco technique while trying vibrato is the problem. It's like my arms forget what they're doing.

Cool, thanks everyone. I've been doing it rhythmically for a couple days now and have gotten better. Only problem now is when I hear myself playing the vibrato correctly i lose focus and mess up. But again, thanks all. peace

I've noticed the technique that gives me the best results, is rolling my wrist and forearm. thanks for the responses.

I always thought it was an issue of injury as to why you're supposed to keep your fingers bent at all times on the bass. It was my understanding that years of pressure on the joints from keeping them straight on the fingerboard can lead to injury later in life.
