Double Bass Got my Bass

Okay, here is some info:
"The instrument is a seven-eighths size, violin cornered, swell-backed model bass violin. The top table is a two-piece plate of slab-cut fir. The back table is a two-piece plate of slab-cut willow. The ribs are of matching character to that of the back table. The neck and scroll are both of the original poplar. The gears are individual Baker style brass tuning gears. The instrument is set up with an English extension machine. The varnish is a deep reddish-brown; antiqued. It is in mint condition."

And some of the specs listed:
Body Length: 44"
Width at Upper Bout: 20-3/4"
Width at Center Bout: (VERY hard to read... Looks like 15"?)
Width at Lower Bout: 25"

Can you let us know on the rib-depth measurements including the back and top plates @ the end pin, the C bouts and the neck joint?
Thanky.

Will email Mr. Kolstein or have my luthier let me know :D

How do you feel about the machined extension?

I'm always looking to see what people with firsthand knowledge of them have to say, there seems to be a lack of discussion on extension machines.

I noticed this lack and it had me concerned at first, but this seems to be a pretty effective system and almost every bassist in the New York Phil used Mechanical Extensions when I saw them last month.
I am enjoying it so far, but I have not tried any Beethoven yet so I will have to see how that goes. Playing it in my jazz group with Original Flexocors, interesting sound to say the least... sounds old school. Should get started with orchestra in the next month or two.

not sure if you mentioned it. Is this a new bass made at Kolstein's? Or is it something else like the Maggini model that Jacques Gagnon makes? It looks pretty similar to some Gagnon Maggini model basses in town here.
how old is it?

I believe Mr. Barrie said that it was a 2006 (? not 100% sure) and was a Kolstein Bass (but not masterbuilt (aka built by Mr. Kolstein only). And the other bass I was considering the most was ALSO a Maggini copy by "Romeo Gabute" from the Phillipines.
