    When you aren't playing bass...

Do any Tb'ers indulge in a little League of Legends? I recently started playing and I love the game, however, sometimes matchmaking leaves much to be desired. If you play, look me up. My name in game is DiscoBiscut (Yes I know "Biscuit" is misspelled). If you don't play, but you'd like to...

    Why the hate towards guitarists?

Yeah, I've hated that part of this community ever since I first signed up. I'm pretty much against any form of stereotyping and prejudice, which the assumption that anyone holding a guitar is a "guitard" clearly falls under.

"Check In" here before and after your gigs, Set #2, the sequel!

Played my first gig ever last weekend. It was a small show on the Appalachian State University's campus, and we were the first of five bands. I was more excited than nervous (this may be because the bassists for one of the other band offered to let me borrow his rig, which was at least 10x...

    No idea how this happened...

Lately, I'd noticed that my bass has seemed a bit off so I decided to give her a thorough check to see if anything was in need of repair. After a few minutes, I discovered that I'm actually missing one of my bridge saddle height screws. :( Anyway, I have no idea how to go about...

    Things bassist hate.

I hate the word guitard. I think whoever came up with that one deserves a swift kick where the sun don't shine for his horrible crime of giving people a way to voice their holier-than-thou attitude.

Reccomend me some good Blues Rock.

+1 for the Raconteurs. Pretty much the first band that comes to mind when I think of modern Blues Rock

If you could be in a tribute band...

Arctic Monkeys. If anyone ever came up to me and offered to start an AM tribute band, I'd pee my pants in excitement. But that's just me >_>

I want to hear YOUR BAND and what you're all about!

About a minute in I was pretty hooked into that song. You guys are pretty good. Also, kudos to you for using bandcamp. I think it's going to be a pretty huge service pretty soon, and with good reason. It's awesome.

    My band's EP recordings

Loved your music from the very first song. Awesome band. I hope you guys stay together and stay strong =)

A drummer you'd like to jam with?

Matt Tong, Dominic Howard, and Matthew Helders. If I could play with any of those three I would probably jizz my pants and play my heart out. Not sure in which order though.

    Almost ready to go except...

Thanks for the advice, guys. I really like the idea of running our own show with a few other bands, but I think I'm going to save that for after we've networked a bit and done some solid gigs. I don't want us to overextend ourselves too early on.

    Almost ready to go except...

Well, there comes a time in very project when you've got to just get out there and test the waters. My current band wantS to start gigging, but we're not sure where to start. We play mostly originals but we have a couple of covers we can throw in the mix if need be. I we definetly don't play...

First time you picked up a bass...

I was fifteen and over the summer I decided that I wanted to learn how to play bass after being heavily influenced by some of my musician friends. The first bass I ever played was a rusty Cort bass guitar that once belonged to my grandfather (An old jazz player, 50 years and still pleasing...

So, I'm getting the itch for something new...

Well, new to me any way. Its around that time when I begin searching for something a little different from what I normally listen to, and I have a general idea of what I want, but not who I want. So, I want to ask you all what great jazz and blues players do you listen to? Old and new. They're...

Do u hate bass and bass players!?

Most ironic to me is the fact that on half the threads on this forum we complain about "This guitard, or that guitard", and yet when someone insults bassists on a guitar forum, it's unacceptable. I think a little brotherly love needs to be extended to guitarists on this forum instead of all the...
