Resurrecting this old (interesting) thread…. I currently have a USA Fallout and L2000, both of which I love. Will a CLF Research L1000 bring anything new to the table that I don’t have already? Also, is the L1000 the same body shape as the L2000, or is it a bit bigger?

SO, I love the tone and the neck of my USA Dimension HH but I’m not sold on the body shape. Has anyone ever moved the neck/pickup/electronics to another body, say a Precision or even a Stingray? (Obviously it would need to be an unrouted body). Or had a new body built for it? I’m curious.

I bought a surf green one, around 9lbs, with a bit of neck dive. I installed some licensed Ultralites, weight went down to around 8.7lbs and the neck dive disappeared.

Just wondering - when you replaced the preamp, did you manage to keep the 5 way switch ok?

Just reading the preamp chat earlier, and wondering if anyone’s ever put a John East preamp in a Dimension? I think having an active/passive switch and a passive tone would be interesting. (I’ve always wondered how different the passive ones sound (ie how flat, or not, the stock preamp is).
