    Best headphones for bass practice

My apologies for the gender mistake, when I was younger, I had feminine/androgynous features of the face. I should have been more specific: you look like me when I was 18 and kept my face clean-shaven. :-) I meant no offense. :-) I'd have to dig up an old high school pic of me to prove it, but I...

Dude! Your avatar pic is freakin' me out: you could be my twin, or a close cousin.

    Best headphones for bass practice

Nice headphones! But my wife would freak out if I dropped that kind of cash for some. :-( But I do like the thought of having the added noise-canceling feature in addition to excellent sound reproduction.

    Best headphones for bass practice

Good to know! Oh, the other reason I decided against the Senn's was that the headphone output of my Peavey TNT 115 is rated at 4-ohms, so trying to run high impedance drivers was out of the question. After I got the GT-10B, I was still limited to 40-ohms, so opted for the A-T's. But have read...

    Best headphones for bass practice

I almost bought those, but was originally going to use them with my GT-10B fx board which has 40-ohms impedence out of the headphone jack, and the M50s is rated at 38-ohms. The Sennheiser's drivers are rated at 63-ohms, and I was worried about them not getting enough power. I now run them...

    Best headphones for bass practice

I love my Audio-Technica M50s 'phones for sound quality (I play 6-string bass, and dabble in most any music genre you can think of). Only thing I don't like about them is that they're a bit "clampy" on my head and I need to wear a baseball cap to keep my eyeglass' ear pieces from digging into my...

Trying Vegetarianism for a week or so

When I turned 40, my cholesterol was high enough that my doctor was going to put me on statins to lower it to acceptable levels. I flat out refused and told him I'd quit the junk food and also go vegetarian as a first response to get my numbers down to healthy levels. I'm not overweight (5'11" @...

    What is your current ringtone?

"Sehnsucht" by Rammstein. Starting from about 14-seconds into it, right after the opening vocalizations. It's definitely easy to hear. ;-)

    special Rickenbacker pain

Doesn't matter what brand of bass it is, but I only get that from woodshedding too long on "Never Gonna Give You Up". e.g.- "Dude! I've been Rickrash'd!" :ninja:

How to get growl from my bass?

I tried wolverine blood on my fretboard once, and everytime I plucked a string it went "SNIKT!" :ninja:

    Boss GT-10B

I downloaded that before I even bought my GT-10B. It is a great program! Much respect! I'm pretty stoked about being able to utilize the GT-10B like this. But I have a lot to learn in regards to MIDI. (among other things ;-) )

    Boss GT-10B

Thanks for the input! :-) I won't be disappointed in my MIDI venture, I'm not looking for the GT-10B to play sounds from the keyboard. I'm hoping that Ableton Live will be able to control patches & parameters of the GT-10B by using the Assigns in Ableton to trigger patch changes in the GT-10B...

    Boss GT-10B

Hello all. Have been a GT-10B owner (and loving user) since the New Year (when I usually make my once a year "big" music purchase). 2010's big purchase was the GT-10B. Holy crap and wow. After 30 years of just playing my basses only through amps: I feel a little slow about getting into FX...

    http://youtube.com/group/talkbass

After watching so many amazing vids you people are making out there I hesitate to add this. Was goofing around with it last week. Hadn't played either song in a LONG time so rusty and prone to mistakes, but it's a fun song with a brief (and butchered) nod to Primus to start it out. Just...

Why do effect pedals cost so much?

Wow, thanks for mentioning BYOC, of which I had not heard of. I used to help my dad build ham radios and TV's from kits he'd buy from Heathkit way back in the late '60's through the mid '70's, and think I'm going to look into getting a pedal kit to try out. :)
