I also have a 700RB-II and i opted to get the Neo212 in the 4ohms version so it could accept all the power the head has to offer. 500W cab with 50W horn is accepting ALL the 480W(50W horn) signal from the head nicely.:cool: have never heard of anyone else with a 4ohms Neo212 btw. Anyone else...

Ive played my share of mid range and high end basses. I tend to usually float around quality mid ranges because whenever I try and play the high end equivalent o a mid range bass (MIJ compared to MIA fender for example) I could never feel a difference that justified an additional 700 dollars...

its actually a Ray34! Thought id get more insight by saying stingray at first (as you may know some people are oddly biased towards mid level instruments) do those have compensated nuts? can't find any info on it anywhere..:hmm:

the only real way to get that tone is with a music man, GK amp, and some overdrive sorry man. The end of blinded in chains (which is awesome) is actually an 8 string bass with a chorus effect so that would be even harder to emulate

i personally bought my Neo 212 in a 4ohm version so it gets the full 480+50 form the head so yeah theres always that option

VT bass still gives me the best sounding overdrive I've heard so far. and I also play a Ray and P and J through a GK

usually keep the EQ relatively flat. but boost at about 1 o clock, contour at 5 o clock always presence at 2 o clock. volume knob anywhere where it doesn't clip (usually around 10 o clock) master and tweet to set real volume
