Yep, found them local from a guy that had them stashed in his garage for the past 25 years in pristine condition. Though as much as my ears love them, my back doesn't, these suckers are heavy.

Agreed- played through a 410xlt Thursday night at a blues jam, it sounded really good, but glad I didn’t have to load it out at the end of the night

Completely agree.
It is so helpful that Roger, Sheldon (Dingwall), Spencer (Lull), Jeff (Genzler), Andy (agedhorse)...all my bass heroes that have a regular presence on here and makes ALL the difference for us users. I'm sure there are more, but those stand out IME.

be 19mm (as the 5 strings are 18mm), but dealers websites have it at 20mm??? TIA

Answering my own question in case it's of any use.

The Sadowsky MM 4 have 20mm string spacing. (email from Warwick)

My daughter has crocheted a few for me - cotton yarn and done. I even get to pick the color!

OK, I'll admit it - they're slightly longer versions of her Chapstick/Blistex sleeves, but they do the job!

NYC4’s:

- 20mm spacing standard, 19mm optional
- 12” radius standard, 9” optional
- 1.45”, 1.5” or 1.75” nut width


NYC5’s:

- 19mm spacing standard, 18mm optiona
- 12” radius
- 1.75” or 1.875” nut width

IIRC ML is the same, except for MM or J/MM 5’s, as they have 18mm string spacing.

I’m seriously contemplating a NYC MM 5’er for that reason. Still doubting between a PJ5 or an MM5 though.

We’ve had a crazy busy season so far. I think we’ll rack up 90+ gigs when our season wraps up in October.
We gig heavy from May to October, then down to a couple a month through the holidays. Off for January February, then into rehearsals etc for the next season.

NBD!!! Vintage J/J 4 String MetroLine that I got two days ago via Sweetwater.

First new bass in 14 years. Also first truly high-end instrument as my others are an MIJ Fender Aerodyne and a Silverburst Ray34 (both of which I still love). But this thing is on another level.

'Nirvana' Black Satin finish with a maple neck. I am in love. Far and away the nicest feeling, best looking, best SOUNDING instrument I've ever used. Real life photo first then two from Sweetwater.
