Club Sadowsky!!!

NBD!!! Vintage J/J 4 String MetroLine that I got two days ago via Sweetwater.

First new bass in 14 years. Also first truly high-end instrument as my others are an MIJ Fender Aerodyne and a Silverburst Ray34 (both of which I still love). But this thing is on another level.

'Nirvana' Black Satin finish with a maple neck. I am in love. Far and away the nicest feeling, best looking, best SOUNDING instrument I've ever used. Real life photo first then two from Sweetwater.

Hi guys,
I have a Japanese ash/maple MV5 with the original split coil (hum cancelling) pickups. The bass sounds dark or too scooped and I want to put some single coils in it. The bass is a beauty and has the best B string I’ve ever played.
Which single coils would you guys recommend? I’m considering Sadowsky, Nordstrand and Howard Ulyate.

Nordstrand. They make some of the Sadowsky models. Ulyate learned from Nordstrand

Thanks guys. The more I look, I see a clearance on other basses. I emailed Roger and he didn't answer my question. Forwarded it...That bothers me. If the guy that designs the bass can't tell you. There's might be a problem.View attachment 5189574

If it’s a MIG Metro, I’d contact who Roger says contact rather than the NYC shop:
For US, please contact Ashley Hunsaker: [email protected]
For international, please contact Hans Peter Wilfer: [email protected]

but... is there actually a problem with the spoke wheel thing? i mean, is this just a perception thing, or is the lack of a bigger gap, or gap at all, actually causing a real problem?

maybe i missed it if there is one, otherwise, but if this is all perception and not an actual problem, seems a little silly to me. IMHO, i like tight precision, as long as it doesn't also mean interference issues. Not sure if i heard here that's actually happening or not. if it is, disregard this post. :)

Would you be able to shift the pickguard away from the neck slightly after loosening the pickguard screw?

There was a gap at the neck pocket on my ML SC5, it bothers me. So I loosen the 6 screws, and reposition the neck. Problem solved.
